What Happened When We Coated the Outside of a Meat Container
The ADR layer never touched the meat. That is the detail worth sitting with before anything else.
No chemical contact. No additive inside the container. No preservative, coating, gas, or treatment of any kind applied to the food itself. The ADR SOL WALLS layer was applied to the external surface of the plastic container — the bottom, sides, and lid — and the plastic seal between the coating and the contents remained intact throughout.
What we observed at day six was unambiguous enough that we have now repeated the experiment independently on four separate occasions. The results are consistent each time.
The Experiment
Conditions:
Sample: minced pork shoulder, sealed in tightly closed plastic containers
Duration: 6 days
Temperature: night approximately 24°C, daytime up to 28°C (conducted in South Africa)
Two containers prepared identically — same contents, same sealing method, same environment
One container: standard plain plastic, no treatment
One container: externally coated with ADR SOL WALLS on the bottom, sides, and lid
The containers sat side by side, under the same thermal conditions, for the duration of the assessment.
Important note: this assessment is comparative and visual in nature. It does not constitute an evaluation of food safety or suitability for consumption. It is an empirical observation of physical degradation processes under identical conditions, with and without ADR SOL WALLS applied to the external surface of the container.
What We Observed
By day six, the visual difference between the two samples was unambiguous.
Container without ADR SOL WALLS: pronounced loss of structural coherence in the material. Significant liquid migration into the surroundings, visible separation of the fat fraction, and a surface colour shift toward yellowish-grey tones. The protein-fat matrix appeared loosened and more degraded, consistent with advanced breakdown.
Container with ADR SOL WALLS (external layer only): the granulation of the meat remained clearly defined. Muscle fibres and fat fractions remained bound in a compact, coherent mass. Phase separation between fat and water was limited, the amount of released liquid was small, and the colour remained within the typical range for raw minced meat, without the predominance of grey or yellow tones characteristic of structural breakdown.
The structural stability of the ADR-coated sample was considerably higher than the control at the same point in time, under the same conditions.

Why This Matters — The Mechanism
The effect cannot be explained by chemical action. The ADR layer was exclusively on the exterior. There was no migration of substances through the barrier. No substance entered the container.
The mechanistic hypothesis, consistent with ADR Technology's documented physical principles, is as follows: the presence of the dielectric mineral matrix on the exterior of the container creates a local reduction in the intensity of the alternating electromagnetic field within the container volume — particularly in the zone directly above the dielectric layer. This change in the surface electrostatic environment influences physical degradation processes within the enclosed space, without any chemical interaction.
This is the same mechanism — Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars interfacial polarisation — documented by the Institute of Molecular Physics at the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFM PAN) in independent electromagnetic characterisation studies of ADR Technology. The field attenuates. The physical environment inside the container changes. No chemistry is involved.
ADR does not add anything to the product. It changes only the physical conditions in which the product exists.
Commercial Implications
This observation, now confirmed across multiple independent tests, has significant commercial implications for sectors where degradation control currently depends on biocidal agents, refrigerant systems, or chemical preservatives:
Food packaging and containers — the external application of ADR SOL WALLS to standard plastic packaging, without modification to the packaging design or food contact materials, creates a measurably different internal physical environment.
Cold chain logistics — reduced degradation under ambient temperature conditions without refrigerant augmentation presents obvious value for transport and storage efficiency.
Food loss reduction — globally, food loss during storage and transit is estimated at hundreds of millions of tonnes annually. A passive, non-chemical mechanism that slows physical degradation processes without modifying the food itself or the packaging's contact classification represents a commercially and regulatorily distinct approach.
Industrial-scale B2B applications — the external coating process is straightforward and compatible with existing container and packaging manufacturing workflows. No change to food contact material classification. No biocidal registration requirement. No change to packaging specifications.
What ADR SOL WALLS Is — And What It Is Not
ADR SOL WALLS is not a food preservative. It is not classified as a biocidal product under EU Regulation 528/2012, because its mechanism is physical, not chemical. It does not claim to make food safe, extend shelf life in any regulated sense, or replace refrigeration.
What it does — consistently, repeatably, and now across multiple independent observations — is change the electromagnetic surface environment of a space through passive dielectric field attenuation. When applied externally to a sealed container, that change is observable in the physical degradation behaviour of the contents.
ADR SOL WALLS is CLP-compliant, UK REACH registered, and non-biocidal. It contains no hazardous substances and carries no PPE or hazard labelling requirements. It is a mineral powder additive that integrates into existing surface coating and application workflows without modification.
For Manufacturers, Packagers, and Logistics Operators
If your sector involves enclosed containers, ambient temperature storage, or transit conditions where physical degradation is a commercial variable — this mechanism is worth a structured conversation.
We are actively seeking manufacturing and formulation partners across the food packaging, cold chain, and industrial container sectors in the UK and EU.

ADR SOL UK is the exclusive UK distributor of ADR Technology, developed and patented by Dr Stanisław Wosiński (Patent EP3230518). ADR Technology is a passive dielectric mineral matrix operating through Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars interfacial polarisation. It is not a medical device, biocidal product, or food additive.
